KSTAR STUDIOS is a multi-award-winning Hip Hop dance studio located in the Western suburbs of Melbourne. Celebrating our 21st year in 2025, we aim to continue our legacy and reach new heights.
Founded in 2004 by Karen Jehodo, KSTAR began in her home garage. Since 2004, our community has flourished into a beautiful family. We pride ourselves in offering street- dance training from the best quality teachers to all ages from preschool through to adults. At KSTAR we provide all of our students (from as young as 2 years through to our oldest being 56!) with the opportunity to shine.
🎭 Community: KSTAR is a community dedicated to providing a safe space for dancers to grow as performers and artists. We take pride in fostering a welcoming, inclusive community—a space where everyone can connect, train, gather, and create together. Whether it be through our classes, battle events, intensives, workshops- we believe in fostering an environment where everyone is welcome.
🌐 International: KSTAR has proudly represented Melbourne on the International stage, competing three times at the prestigious Hip Hop International in the USA. Our highest placing being 4th Junior Crew in the World by 0.01 of a point from 3rd in 2008. Most recently we have represented Australia in Phoenix Arizona (HHI 2024) & Auckland New Zealand (WDCC 2025).
🏆 2024 Competition Highlights: KSTAR has won numerous state and national titles, earned in competitions such as the Australian Dance Crew Championships, Hip Hop International National Qualifiers, World Supremacy Battlegrounds, UDO Dance Championships and Revolution Dance Championship. The biggest highlight of 2024 was having our KSTAR JV Team represent Australia at the World Hip Hop Dance Crew Championships in Phoenix Arizona! The crew placed 17th in the world out of 45 crews!
