About us
KSTAR STUDIOS is a multi-award-winning street dance studio located in Melbourne’s western suburbs. Celebrating our 22nd year in 2026, we are proud to continue our legacy of providing high-quality street dance training while ensuring every dancer’s journey is fun, inspiring, and driven by a genuine love for dance.
Over the years, we have played a key role in developing Melbourne’s young and emerging leaders, with many of our alumni becoming influential and inspiring dancers within the scene. KSTAR STUDIOS remains committed to nurturing and empowering the next generation of dancers as future industry leaders.
Founded in 2004 by Karen Jehodo, KSTAR began in her home garage. Since 2004, our community has flourished into a beautiful family. 20 years later in 2024, Karen passed the reins to her cousin, Deanne Francisco, who stepped in as Principal of KSTAR Studios. Since then, Deanne has been committed to carrying forward Karen’s vision, guiding the studio into new adventures, nurturing its growth, and building KSTAR into the studio their family always dreamed of.

Strong Foundations
At KSTAR, we believe everything starts with strong foundations! In our dancers’ early years, we focus on building student’s fundamentals through bounce, groove and rhythm. We introduce musicality, coordination, and help students find their performance confidence, so each student feels supported, capable, and ready to grow.
Quality Training
Our classes are led by passionate, industry-involved teachers who genuinely care about each dancer’s development. We provide high-quality, age-appropriate training that helps dancers build skill, confidence, and a true love for dance. We support our dancers in building confidence, resilience, and self-belief- skills that stay with them both on and off the stage, throughout every part of their journey.
Proud Achievements through Performances & Comps
At KSTAR we believe that each student deserves an opportunity to shine! Whether it be a community performance, competition,mid/end of year showcase, project video or any other performance/creative outlet, our studio will provide yourself or your child the opportunity to apply their talents & skills.
We’re proud of the outstanding results our dancers have achieved over the years. KSTAR has represented Melbourne and Australia on the international stage at events such as Hip Hop International in the USA, placing 4th Junior Crew in the World, and more recently competing in Phoenix, Arizona (HHI 2024) and Auckland, New Zealand (WDCC 2025) with our Junior Elite students crowned the Junior Silver Medalists of WDCC! Other places include Canberra, Brisbane, Sydney, Las Vegas, & San Diego.
Community, Culture & Industry Connections
KSTAR is a welcoming, family-oriented studio where dancers feel safe, supported, and inspired. Through classes, workshops, intensives, and battle events, we create a space to connect, grow, and share a genuine love for dance. Our special community is linked to an incredible network of creatives, industry leaders, agencies, and event organisers, giving dancers ongoing opportunities- from performances and events to creative projects and industry experiences. We open doors, create pathways, and support dancers as they grow, explore, and step confidently into the wider dance community.

Over the years, many of our dancers have grown into respected and influential members of the dance community. We’re proud to support the next generation as they develop not only as performers, but as future industry leaders.
Performances & Achievements
KSTAR STUDIOS is proud of the opportunities and achievements our dancers have earned both locally and internationally. Recent highlights include performances at the Snoop Dogg x AFL Grand Final, with dancers selected as Mini KISS Kids and members of the on-field ensemble. Our dancers have also represented Australia at Hip Hop International 2024 in Phoenix, Arizona, and are the 2025 Junior Silver Medalists of World Dance Crew Championships in Auckland, New Zealand (April 2025).
